SELECTOR LEVER OPERATION CHECK

1.Apply the parking brake, and operate the selector lever to each of the positions, then check that the selector lever operates smoothly with secure feel of engagement.

2.Check that the Ready indicator illuminates when the selector lever is in the P position, and that it does not illuminate when in other positions.
3.Have the Ready indicator illuminated, and release the parking brake, then operate the selector lever from the N position to D, B, or C position, and check that the vehicle moves forward. Also, check that the vehicle moves rearward when the selector lever is shifted to the R position.
4.Have the Ready indicator turned OFF.
5.Turn the electric motor switch ON, and move the selector lever from the P position to R position. The back-up lamp should illuminate, and the reverse alarm buzzer should sound.
note Because the transmission misoperation preventive device is equipped, the selector lever cannot be moved out of the P position unless the electric motor switch is turned to the position other than LOCK (OFF) and the brake pedal is depressed.
