<<A>> SHOCK ABSORBER DISPOSAL


caution Wear protective glasses. Although the gas is harmless, drilling chips may be blown out by the gas.

Before disposing of the shock absorber, place it on a level surface with the shock absorber extended, and punch a hole of approximately 3 mm in diameter at the position shown in the figure to discharge the gas.

<<B>> COIL SPRING AND UPPER SPRING PAD REMOVAL


caution
  • To hold the coil spring securely, install the special tools evenly so that the distance between both jaws will be at maximum within the installation range.
  • Do not use an impact wrench because the special tool may become damaged.


Set the following special tools as shown in the figure. Compress the coil spring, and lower the axle assembly within a distance not more than 60 mm from the centre of shock absorber lower side mounting section, and then remove the upper spring pad and coil spring.

Install the coil spring with its end face aligned with the stepped shape of the axle assembly. Alternatively, install the coil spring so that its end face is placed in the area shown in the figure.
