BRAKE DRAG FORCE CHECK

.Remove the brake pad assembly, shim, and clip (refer to ).

.Using a spring scale, measure the hub sliding torque in the forward direction with the brake pad, shim and clip removed.
.Install the brake pad assembly, shim, and clip (refer to ).
.Turn the electric motor switch to the ON position, and lightly depress the brake pedal two to three times. Then, turn the electric motor switch to the LOCK (OFF) position (pedal depressing force: approx. 50 to 100 N).
.Turn the brake disc forward 10 times.
.Using a spring scale, measure the hub sliding torque in the forward direction with the brake pad, shim and clip installed.
.Obtain the disc brake drag force (difference between measured values of item 2 and item 6).
Standard value: 78 N or less
.If the brake drag force exceeds the standard value, disassemble the brake caliper assembly to check for fouling/rust on the piston sliding surface and for piston seal deterioration, and confirm whether the guide pin and lock pin slide properly (refer to ).
