PINION TOTAL ROTATION TORQUE CHECK

1.
caution Secure the steering gear & linkage to the special mounting point. Fixing the steering gear & linkage to another point could deform or damage the gear housing.
Using the preload socket (special tool: MB991006), rotate the pinion at the rate of one rotation in approximately 12 seconds to measure the total pinion torque.
Standard value:
    <Total rotation torque> 0.7 to 2.1 N·m
    <Torque fluctuation> 0.9 N·m or less
note Perform the all-around measurement on the full stroke of the rack.
2.If not within the standard value, replace the steering gear and linkage assembly.(Refer to .)
