No operation of the door lock actuator or a malfunction of the tailgate lock actuator is suspected.

PROBABLE CAUSES



DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Confirmation of the defective door lock actuator or tailgate lock actuator


Q. Which door or tailgate is not locked normally?

Driver’s door <LHD> : Go to Step 2.

Driver’s door <RHD> : Go to Step 5.

Front passenger’s door <LHD> : Go to Step 8.

Front passenger’s door <RHD> : Go to Step 11.

Rear right door : Go to Step 14.

Rear left door : Go to Step 17.

Tailgate : Go to Step 20.

STEP 2. Connector check: B-318 ETACS-ECU connector, D-06 front door lock actuator (LH) <LHD> connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Front door lock actuator (LH) <LHD> check


Check that the front door lock actuator (LH) <LHD> works normally. Refer to inspection .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.

Replace the front door lock actuator (LH) <LHD>.

STEP 4. Check of the wiring harness between the B-318 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 22, 23 and D-06 front door lock actuator (LH) <LHD> connector terminal Nos. 6, 4


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check joint connector (2) B-03, intermediate connector B-22, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. Connector check: B-318 ETACS-ECU connector, D-03 front door lock actuator (RH) <RHD> connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 6. Front door lock actuator (RH) <RHD> check


Check that the front door lock actuator (RH) <RHD> works normally. Refer to inspection .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 7.

Replace the front door lock actuator (RH) <RHD>.

STEP 7. Check of the wiring harness between the B-318 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 22, 23 and D-03 front door lock actuator (RH) <RHD> connector terminal Nos. 6, 4

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 8. Connector check: B-318 ETACS-ECU connector, D-03 front door lock actuator (RH) <LHD> connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 9.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 9. Front door lock actuator (RH) <LHD> check


Check that the front door lock actuator (RH) <LHD> works normally. Refer to inspection .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 10.

Replace the front door lock actuator (RH) <LHD>.

Check that the front door lock actuator (LH) <RHD> works normally. Refer to inspection .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 13.

Replace the front door lock actuator (LH) <RHD>.

STEP 13. Check of the wiring harness between the B-318 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 22, 23 and the D-06 front door lock actuator (LH) <RHD> connector terminal Nos. 6, 4

Go to Step 15.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 15. Rear door lock actuator (RH) check


Check that the rear door lock actuator works normally. Refer to inspection .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 16.

Replace the rear door lock actuator (RH).

STEP 16. Check of the wiring harness between the B-318 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 22, 23 and the D-12 rear door lock actuator (RH) connector terminal Nos. 6, 4


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check joint connector (2) B-03, intermediate connector C-34, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 17. Connector check: B-318 ETACS-ECU connector, D-14 rear door lock actuator (LH) connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 18.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 18. Rear door lock actuator (LH) check


Check that the rear door lock actuator (LH) is in good condition. Refer to inspection .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 19.

Replace the rear door lock actuator (LH).

STEP 19. Check of the wiring harness between the B-318 ETACS-ECU connector terminal Nos. 22, 23and the D-14 rear door lock actuator (LH) connector terminal Nos. 6, 4


note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check joint connector (2) B-03, intermediate connector C-16, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 20. Connector check: F-05 Tailgate lock actuator connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 21.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 21. Tailgate lock actuator check


Check that the tailgate lock actuator is in good condition. Refer to inspection .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 22.

Replace the tailgate lock actuator.

STEP 22. Resistance measurement at F-05 tailgate lock actuator connector


(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure at the wiring harness side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the F-05 tailgate lock actuator connector terminal No. 2 and the body earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 24.

Go to Step 23.

STEP 23. Check of the wiring harness between the F-05 tailgate lock actuator connector terminal No. 2 and the body earth



note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check the C-08 intermediate connector, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).

Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 24. Connector check: B-318 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 25.

Repair the defective connector.

STEP 25. Check of the wiring harness between the B-318 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 21 and the F-05 tailgate lock actuator connector terminal No. 1


Check the input/output line for open circuit.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check the C-07, C-08 intermediate connectors, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Repair the wiring harness.
