Inspection Procedure
1: The electric-folding door mirrors do not work at all.
caution
Whenever the ECU
is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.
OPERATION
The ETACS-ECU operates this function in accordance with the input signals below.
Electric motor switch (ACC)
Electric remote controlled mirror switch (folding/unfolding switch)
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the system does not work, the input circuit from the electric motor switch (ACC), the
remote controlled mirror switch (folding/unfolding switch), or the ETACS-ECU may be
defective.
PROBABLE CAUSES
Defective remote controlled mirror switch
Malfunction of the electric motor switch (ACC)
The ETACS-ECU may be defective
Damaged harness wires and connectors
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code.
Check if an ETACS-related diagnosis code is set.

Is the diagnosis code set?
Diagnose the ETACS.(Refer to GROUP 54A -
ETACS, Trouble Symptom Chart .)
Go to step 2.
STEP 2. M.U.T.-III data list
Check the input signals which are related to the electric folding door mirrors.

Check the input signals which are related to the electric folding door mirrors.
Turn on the folding/unfolding switch when the door mirrors are folded.

Turn on the folding/unfolding switch when the door mirrors are unfolded.
STEP 5. Check the remote controlled mirror switch.
Check that the remote controlled mirror switch is normal.(Refer to .)

Is the check result normal?
Go to step 6.
Replace the remote controlled mirror switch.
STEP 6. Measure the resistance at B-26 remote controlled mirror switch
connector.
(1)Disconnect the connector, and measure the resistance at the wiring harness.
(2)Measure the resistance between the B-26 remote controlled mirror switch connector
terminal No. 1 and the body earth. OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω
or less)
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to step 8.
Go to step 7.
STEP 7. Check the wiring harness between B-26 remote controlled mirror
switch connector terminal No. 1 and the body earth.

Before the wiring harness check, check the B-02 junction connector, and repair if necessary.
Check the earth wires for open circuit.
