Inspection Procedure 2: Either of the electric-folding door mirrors does not work.

Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the input and output signal circuits are normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

If either of the electric folding door mirrors does not work, the appropriate door mirror assembly may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Malfunction of the door mirror assembly
The ETACS-ECU may be defective
Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Determine a trouble spot.

Q. Which of the door mirrors cannot be folded/unfolded?

	Driver’s door mirror (RH) : Go to step 2.

	Front passenger’s door mirror (LH) : Go to step 6.

STEP 2. Connector inspection: D-01 door mirror assembly (RH) connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to step 3.

	Repair the damaged connector.

STEP 3. Check the door mirror assembly (RH).

Check that the electric folding outside rear-view mirror (RH) works normally.(Refer to

	Go to step 4.

	Replace the door mirror assembly (RH).

STEP 4. Connector check: B-318 ETACS-ECU connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to step 5.

	Repair the damaged connector.

STEP 5. Check the wiring harness between D-01 door assembly (RH) connector terminal No. 10, 9 and B-318 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 30, 40.

note

Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check B-109 intermediate connectors, and repair if necessary.

Check the input and output lines for open or short circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to step 10.

	Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. Connector inspection: D-04 Door mirror assembly (LH) connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to step 7.

	Repair the damaged connector.

STEP 7. Check the door mirror assembly (LH).

	Go to step 8.

	Replace the door mirror assembly (LH).

STEP 8. Connector check: B-318 ETACS-ECU connector

	Go to step 9.

	Repair the damaged connector.

STEP 9. Check the wiring harness between D-04 door mirror assembly (LH) connector terminal No. 10, 9 and B-318 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No. 30, 40.

	Go to step 10.

	Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 10. Check the trouble symptom.

Check that the electric folding door mirrors work normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Intermittent malfunction. Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points, - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunctions .)

	Replace the ETACS-ECU.
