Code No.B1706: Detection of turn-signal lamp (blown fuse)










COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If the flasher fuse is broken, the ETACS-ECU sets diagnosis code No. B1706.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Check the flasher fuse (fuse No. 12).


Q. Is the fuse in good condition?

Go to Step 2.
Check the flasher fuse (fuse No.12). (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - Inspection service point for blown fuse .) Then go to Step 4.

STEP 2. Connector check: B-304 ETACS-ECU connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Check the wiring harness between B-304 ETACS-ECU connector terminal No.20 and fusible link (21)



  • Check the output lines for open circuit.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check junction block connector C-308, and repair if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.


Check if diagnosis code No.B1706 is set to the ETACS-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the ETACS-ECU and register the ID codes (Refer to ).
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
