2: The electric motor unit does not start.
COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM
If the electric motor unit does not start, the ETACS-ECU, the EV-ECU or the electric motor
control unit (EMCU) may be defective. It is no problem with the malfunction above when the electric
motor is started with unregistered electric motor key.

Damaged harness wires and connectors

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Auxiliary battery voltage check
Measure the auxiliary battery voltage when cranking. OK: 8 V or more

Check the auxiliary battery (Refer to ).
STEP 2. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics
Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting ).
STEP 3. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code
Check whether the EV-ECU and EMCU diagnosis code is set.

Refer to GROUP 54D, Troubleshooting <EV-ECU> or <EMCU>.
Go to Step 4
STEP 4. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code
Check whether the immobilizer system related diagnosis code is set to ETACS-ECU.
