Inspection Procedure 2: One of the room lamps does not illuminate.


caution Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the power supply circuit, the earth circuit and the communication circuit are normal.






COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If any of the room lamps does not illuminate normally, wiring harness connector(s) or the bulb may be defective.

PROBABLE CAUSES



DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Bulb check
Check if the bulb of the room lamp which does not illuminate is normal.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 2.
Replace the bulb(s) of the defective room lamp.

STEP 2. Determine a trouble spot.
Determine which of the front and rear room lamps does not illuminate.

Q. Does none of the room lamps do not illuminate?
Inspection Procedure 1: The front and rear room lamp do not illuminate normally. (Refer to .)
NO(The front room lamp does not illuminate) : Go to Step 3.
NO (The rear room lamp does not illuminate) : Go to Step 11.

STEP 3. Front room lamp switch check
Check which position (ON or DOOR) of the front room lamp switch does not activate the relevant lamp.

Q. No switch position activates the lamp?
Go to Step 8.
NO (the lamp does not illuminate at the ON position) : Go to Step 4.
NO (the lamp does not illuminate at the DOOR position) : Go to Step6.

STEP 4. Connector check: C-01 front room lamp connector

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 5. Check the wiring harness from C-01 front fog lamp connector terminal No. 2 to body earth.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check C-04 intermediate connectors, and repair if necessary.

  • Check the earth wires for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 10.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 6. Connector check: C-01 front room lamp connector, C-05 rear room lamp connector

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 7.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 7. Check the wiring harness from C-01 front room lamp connector terminal No. 1 to C-05 rear room lamp connector terminal No. 2.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check C-04 intermediate connectors, and repair if necessary.

  • Check the earth wires for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 8.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 8. Connector check: C-01 front room lamp connector, C-06 intermediate connector

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 9.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 9. Check the wiring harness from C-01 front room lamp connector terminal No. 3 to C-07 intermediate connector terminal No. 16.
note Prior to the wiring harness inspection, check C-04 intermediate connectors, and repair if necessary.

  • Check the output lines for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 10.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 10. Retest the system.
Check if the front room lamp illuminates normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the front room lamp.

STEP 11. Connector check: C-05 rear room lamp connector, C-07 intermediate connector

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 12.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 12. Check the wiring harness from C-05 rear room lamp connector terminal No. 1 to C-07 intermediate connector terminal No. 16.

  • Check the output lines for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 13.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 13. Retest the system.
Check if the rear room lamp illuminates normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?
The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Replace the rear room lamp.
