COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM


If the licence plate lamps do not illuminate normally, the harness or connector(s) may have a problem, or the fuse may be blown.

PROBABLE CAUSES




DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE


STEP 1. Operation check of rear combination lamp (taillamp, RH)


Check that the rear combination lamp (RH taillamp) illuminates normally.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Diagnose the rear combination lamp.Inspection Procedure 1:None of the tail lamps illuminate. (Refer to .)

STEP 2. Connector check: C-08 intermediate connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 3. Resistance measurement at C-08 intermediate connector


(1)Disconnect the connector and measure at connector side.
(2)Measure the resistance between the C-08 intermediate connector terminal No. 20 and body earth.
OK: Continuity exists (2 Ω or less)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness from C-08 intermediate connector terminal No. 20 to body earth.


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 5. Connector check: C-07 intermediate connector


Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the defective connector.

STEP 6. Check the wiring harness from C-07 intermediate connector terminal No. 22 to C-08 intermediate connector terminal No. 14.



  • Check the power supply line for open circuit.

Q. Is the check result normal?

The trouble can be an intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to use Troubleshooting/inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction ).
Repair the wiring harness.
