Inspection Procedure 9: The column switch signal is not received.

Whenever the ECU is replaced, ensure that the communication circuit is normal.

COMMENTS ON TROUBLE SYMPTOM

The ETACS-ECU receives the column switch signal via the LIN communication. If there is an abnormality to column switch or LIN bus line, the lights and wiper/washer do not work normally.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Malfunction of column switch
Faulty LIN bus line

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III diagnosis code

Check if diagnosis code is set to the ETACS-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Refer to Diagnosis code chart

Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Column switch check

Check the continuity for wiper/washer switch. Refer to .
Check the continuity for column switch (switch body part). Refer to .

Q. Is the check result normal?

Replace the column switch.
