Code No. C2010:
Brake electric vacuum pump control relay 1 coil system error (VP) Code No. C2018: Brake
electric vacuum pump control relay 1 OFF seizure (VP)
BRAKE VACUUM GENERATION SYSTEM CIRCUIT
OPERATION
The EV-ECU controls the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 1 and monitors the coil drive
circuit of the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 1.
DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS
While the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 1
is set to OFF, if the low excitation coil monitor voltage level of the brake electric vacuum
pump control relay 1 continues, the diagnosis code No. C2010 will be set.
With the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 1 set to ON by the initial driving,
if the low motor voltage level of the brake electric vacuum pump continues, the diagnosis code
No. C2018 will be set.
With the brake electric vacuum pump control relays 1, 2 set to ON, if the low motor
voltage level of the brake electric vacuum pump continues, the diagnosis code No. C2018 will
be set.
PROBABLE CAUSES
Malfunction of the brake electric vacuum pump control
relay 1
Malfunction of the brake electric vacuum pump relay box
Damaged wiring harness or connector(s)
Malfunction of the EV-ECU
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Measure the voltage at A-101X brake electric vacuum
pump control relay 1 (brake electric vacuum pump relay box) connector.
(1)Remove the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 1, and measure the voltage
at the wiring harness side.
(2)Turn the electric motor switch to the "ON" position.
(3)Measure the voltage between the A-101X brake electric vacuum pump control relay
1 (brake electric vacuum pump relay box) connector terminal No. 3, 5 and the body earth. OK: Battery voltage
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Connector check: A-101X brake electric vacuum pump control
relay 1 (brake electric vacuum pump relay box) connector
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Correct and replace the brake electric vacuum pump relay box.
STEP 3. Brake electric vacuum pump control relay 1 check
Check the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 1. (Refer to GROUP 35A - On-vehicle
Service - Relay Check .)
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 4.
Replace the brake electric vacuum pump control relay 1.
