Code No. C201A: Brake electric vacuum pump motor seizure (VP)

BRAKE VACUUM GENERATION SYSTEM CIRCUIT

OPERATION

The power of the brake electric vacuum pump is supplied from the brake electric vacuum pump control relay. The EV-ECU monitors the voltage for the brake electric vacuum pump.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Operation check of brake electric vacuum pump

Check that the brake electric vacuum pump operates by the initial driving that the power switch is set from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction .)
Check the brake electric vacuum pump. (Refer to GROUP 35A - On-vehicle Service - Brake Electric Vacuum Pump Check .) Or, replace the brake electric vacuum pump when the brake electric vacuum pump is -80kPa or higher. Then go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Connector check: A-104 brake electric vacuum pump relay box connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Correct and replace the brake electric vacuum pump relay box. Replace the brake electric vacuum pump.

STEP 3. Connector check: C-106 EV-ECU connector, A-107 intermediate, B-28 intermediate, E-05 brake electric vacuum pump connecter

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Repair the damaged connector. Correct and replace the brake electric vacuum pump relay box. Replace the brake electric vacuum pump.

STEP 4. Check the wiring harness between A-104 brake electric vacuum pump relay box connector terminal No. 6 and C-106 EV-ECU connector terminal No. 27.

Check the signal lines for open circuit and short to earth. Or, check the fuse in the brake electric vacuum pump relay box.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Repair the wiring harness. Or, replace the brake electric vacuum pump relay box. Replace the brake electric vacuum pump.

STEP 5. Check the wiring harness between A-104 brake electric vacuum pump relay box connector terminal No. 7 and E-05 brake electric vacuum pump connector terminal No. 2.

Check the power supply line for open circuit and short to earth.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 6.
Repair the wiring harness. Or, replace the brake electric vacuum pump relay box. Replace the brake electric vacuum pump.

STEP 6. Diagnosis code recheck

Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the EV-ECU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the EV-ECU. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 7.
Intermittent malfunction (Refer to GROUP 00 - How to Use Troubleshooting/Inspection Service Points - How to Cope with Intermittent Malfunction .)

STEP 7.

Return to Step 1.
The diagnosis is complete.
