If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines,
an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, always diagnose the CAN bus
lines.
OPERATION
The on board charger/DC-DC converter communicates
with EV-ECU via CAN.
DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS
If the charging time of the regular charging time is longer
than the estimated maximum regular charging time by 1 hour or longer, the diagnosis code No.
P1AF6 will be set.
PROBABLE CAUSES
Malfunction of the on board charger system
Malfunction of the BMU
Malfunction of the EV-ECU
Malfunction of the main battery
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnosis
Use the M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Repair the CAN bus line. (Refer to GROUP 54C - Troubleshooting .)
Then go to Step 2.
STEP 2. Diagnosis code recheck after resetting CAN bus lines
Check again if the diagnosis code No. P1AF6 is set to the EV-ECU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.
Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Go to Step 3.
This diagnosis is complete.
STEP 3. Use M.U.T.-III to confirm a diagnosis code of other systems.
Check if the diagnosis code No. 26 or 32 is set to the on board charger.
Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Carry out troubleshooting for the diagnosis code No. 26 (refer to )
or No. 32 (refer to ). Then go to Step 4.
Go to Step 4.
STEP 4. M.U.T.-III data list
Check the BMU service data. (Refer to .)
Item No. 3 : Maximum cell voltage
Item No. 5 : Minimum cell voltage
Item No. 8 : Module maximum temperature
Item No. 10 : Minimum module temperature
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 5.
Replace the BMU. (Refer to .) Then go to Step
7.
STEP 5. M.U.T.-III data list
Check the BMU service data. (Refer to .)
Item No. 8 : Module maximum temperature
Item No. 10 : Minimum module temperature
Item No. 33 : Maximum value of cell voltage difference
OK: The difference between the maximum module temperature and minimum temperature
is 40°C or less, the maximum cell voltage difference value is 0.3 V or less.
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 6.
Replace the main battery. (Refer to .) Then go
to Step 7.
STEP 6. Diagnosis code recheck
Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the EV-ECU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.
Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Replace the EV-ECU. (Refer to .) Then go to
Step 7.
The diagnosis is complete.
STEP 7. Diagnosis code recheck
Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the EV-ECU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
