Code No. P1B34 CMU sensor fail (BMU)


caution If there is any problem in the CAN bus lines, an incorrect diagnosis code may be set. Prior to this diagnosis, diagnose the CAN bus lines .

OPERATION

    BMU communicates with EV-ECU via CAN.

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

    If the combination of diagnosis code No. P1A76 and P1A82, P1A77 and P1A83, P1A78 and P1A84, P1A79 and P1A85, P1A7A and P1A86, P1A7B and P1A87, P1A7C and P1A88, P1A7D and P1A89, P1A7F and P1A8A, P1A80 and P1A8B, or P1A81 and P1A8C is set to the BMU, the diagnosis code No. P1B34 will be set.

PROBABLE CAUSES

    Malfunction of the BMU main battery system

DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III CAN bus diagnostics
Use M.U.T.-III to diagnose the CAN bus lines.

Q. Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3
Repair the CAN bus line (Refer to GROUP 54C - CAN Bus Diagnostics Table ). Then go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Diagnosis code recheck after resetting CAN bus lines
Recheck if the diagnosis code is set .
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the electric motor switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
Go to Step 3
This diagnosis is complete.

STEP 3. M.U.T.-III other system diagnosis code
Check if the combination of diagnosis code No. P1A76 and P1A82, P1A77 and P1A83, P1A78 and P1A84, P1A79 and P1A85, P1A7A and P1A86, P1A7B and P1A87, P1A7C and P1A88, P1A7D and P1A89, P1A7F and P1A8A, P1A80 and P1A8B, or P1A81 and P1A8C is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
Troubleshoot the BMU (Refer to ). Then go to Step 4.
Go to Step 4

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset
Recheck if the diagnosis code is set .
(1)Erase the diagnosis code.
(2)Turn the electric motor switch from "LOCK" (OFF) position to "ON" position.
(3)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?
Go to Step 1
The diagnosis is complete.
