Code No. P0A0D: Motor drive voltage rise (H/W detection)

caution
  • Even when the vehicle is normal, a diagnosis code might be set depending on the service status. Therefore, check the interview information before the diagnosis.
ELECTRIC MOTOR UNIT CONTROL SYSTEM CIRCUIT

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

If the motor (electric motor unit) drive voltage increases to approximately 420 V or more, the MCU will set the diagnosis code No. P0A0D.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Use M.U.T.-III to confirm a diagnosis code of other systems.

Check if the diagnosis code other than No. P1A22 is set to the EV-ECU.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Carry out troubleshooting for the EV-ECU. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 2.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. High-voltage connector check: G-05, G-06 MCU high-voltage terminal, G-18, G-19 main battery high-voltage terminal

danger Carry out the check on the high-voltage circuit while reading carefully the precautions on handling a high-voltage vehicle. (Refer to .)
danger Wear the specified protection equipment during the check.
(1)Shut down the high voltage.
(2)Check that the following terminals are tightened to the specified torque. (Refer to , .)

  • G-05, G-06 MCU high-voltage terminal
  • G-18, G-19 main battery high-voltage terminal

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Tighten the high-voltage terminal to the specified torque. (Refer to , .)

STEP 3. G-05, G-06 MCU to G-18, G-19 main battery high-voltage harness check

danger Carry out the check on the high-voltage circuit while reading carefully the precautions on handling a high-voltage vehicle. (Refer to .)
danger Wear the specified protection equipment during the check.
(1)Shut down the high voltage.
(2)Visual check between the G-05, G-06 MCU high-voltage terminal and G-18, G-19 main battery high-voltage terminal

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Replace the high-voltage harness.

STEP 4. Diagnosis code recheck

Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the MCU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
(3)Set the electric motor switch to the "START" position, and start the electric motor unit.
(4)Run the vehicle.
(5)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the MCU. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 5.
The diagnosis is complete.

STEP 5.

Replace the main battery assembly. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 6.
The diagnosis is complete.

STEP 6.

Return to Step 1.
The diagnosis is complete.
