Code No. P0A3C: IGBT1 abnormal temperature rise Code No. P0A3D: IGBT2 abnormal temperature rise (MCU)
DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS
If the temperature detected by the IGBT1 temperature sensor and IGBT2 temperature sensor is kept at 95°C or more, the MCU will set the diagnosis code No. P0A3C or P0A3D.
note
The diagnosis code may be set by some driving operations such as high load, low-speed driving, or overuse of cooling.
PROBABLE CAUSES
Malfunction of the system cooling such as radiator, water pump, coolant
Malfunction of the MCU (IGBT temperature sensor)
DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE
STEP 1. Use M.U.T.-III to confirm a diagnosis code of other systems.
Check if the diagnosis code is set to the EV-ECU.
Q.
Is the diagnosis code set?
Carry out troubleshooting for the EV-ECU. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 2.
Go to Step 2.
STEP 2. M.U.T.-III freeze frame (FFD) data
Check the freeze frame data.
Freeze frame data
Item No. 22 : IGBT1 temperature
Item No. 23 : IGBT2 temperature
Item No. 31 : Motor torque
OK: IGBT1 and IGBT2 is almost the same in temperature. And the motor torque is not output (0 Nm).
Q.
Is the check result normal?
Go to Step 3.
Replace the MCU. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 3.
STEP 3. Diagnosis code recheck
Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the MCU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the LOCK (OFF) position to the ON position.
(3)Set the electric motor switch to the LOCK (OFF) position, and start the electric motor unit.
