Code No. P1A2B: Three-phase line error (MCU)

ELECTRIC MOTOR UNIT CONTROL SYSTEM CIRCUIT

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

If one of the following conditions is met when the HW IGBT gate is set to ON, the MCU will set the diagnosis code No. P1A2B.

  1. The difference between the U-phase indicated current and detected current is 50 A or more.
  2. The difference between the W-phase indicated current and detected current is 50 A or more.

PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Connector check: E-07 MCU, motor (electric motor unit) connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 2.
Repair the damaged connector.

STEP 2. Measure the resistance at E-07 MCU, motor (electric motor unit) connector.

(1)Disconnect the E-07 MCU, motor (electric motor unit) connector.
(2)Measure the resolver resistance between the E-07 motor (electric motor unit) connector terminals.

RESISTANCE VALUE AT ROOM TEMPERATURE OF 25°C
Terminal No.
Normal value
6 - 13
31 to 41 Ω
5 - 12
79 to 97 Ω
4 - 11
72 to 88 Ω
6 - 4, 5, 11, 12
No continuity
13 - 4, 5, 11, 12
No continuity

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 3.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 3. Measure the insulation resistance of the G-07, G-08, G-09 MCU high-voltage cable.

danger Carry out the check on the high-voltage circuit while reading carefully the precautions on handling a high-voltage vehicle. (Refer to .)
danger Wear the specified protection equipment during the check.
caution Before measuring the insulation resistance, set the range of the electric insulation tester (special tool: MB992355) to 500 V. If a range exceeding 500 V is used for the measurement, the part may be damaged.
(1)Shut down the high voltage.
(2)Disconnect the drive motor cable (refer to ) and measure it on the MCU side.
(3)Use the electric insulation tester (special tool: MB992355) and set it to the 500 V range.
(4)Measure the insulation resistance between one of the G-07, G-08, G-09 MCU high-voltage terminals and the body.
OK: 10 MΩ or more

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 5.
Go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Diagnosis code recheck

Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the MCU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
(3)Set the electric motor switch to the "START" position, and start the electric motor unit.
(4)Run the vehicle.
(5)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the motor (electric motor unit). (Refer to .) Then go to Step 5.
The diagnosis is complete.

STEP 5.

Replace the MCU. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 6.
The diagnosis is complete.

STEP 6.

The diagnosis is complete.
Return to Step 1.
