PROBABLE CAUSES

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. M.U.T.-III data list

Check the motor service data. (Refer to .)
Data list
  • Item No. 17 : U-phase coil temperature
  • Item No. 18 : V-phase coil temperature
  • Item No. 19 : W-phase coil temperature
OK: Normal conditions are displayed for all the items.

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Go to Step 2.

STEP 2. Connector check: E-07 MCU, motor (electric motor unit) connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

YES : Go to Step 3.
Repair the damaged connector.

STEP 3. Check the resistance of the coil temperature sensor.

(1)Disconnect the E-07 MCU, motor (electric motor unit) connector.
(2)Measure the resistance value of the coil temperature sensor (U-phase and W-phase) between the E-07 motor (electric motor unit) connector terminals.
Terminal No.
Normal value
3 - 9 (W-phase)
12.3 to 12.8 kΩ: 20°C
5.6 to 6.1 kΩ: 40°C
2.8 to 3.2 kΩ: 60°C
1.5 to 1.8 kΩ: 80°C
2 - 8 (U-phase)

Q. Is the check result normal?

Go to Step 4.
Replace the motor (electric motor unit) (). Then go to Step 4.

STEP 4. Diagnosis code recheck

Check again if the diagnosis code is set to the MCU.
(1)Erase the stored diagnosis code.
(2)Set the electric motor switch from the "LOCK" (OFF) position to the "ON" position.
(3)Set the electric motor switch to the "LOCK" (OFF) position, and start the electric motor unit.
(4)Run the vehicle.
(5)Check if the diagnosis code is set.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

Replace the MCU. (Refer to .) Then go to Step 5.
The diagnosis is complete.

STEP 5.

Go to Step 1.
The diagnosis is complete.
