Code No. B1121 Outside/inside air selection damper and potentionmeter (high input)

DIAGNOSIS CODE SET CONDITIONS

This code is set when the input from the air recirculation/fresh outside/inside air selection damper motor and potentiometer stays in a range between 4.922 and 5.000 V for 3 seconds.

PROBABLE CAUSES

Outside/inside air selection damper motor and potentiometer
Damaged harness wires and connectors
Malfunction of compressor & heater controller

DIAGNOSIS PROCEDURE

STEP 1. Connector check: B-10-3 outside/inside air selection damper motor and potentiometer connector, C-113, C-101 compressor & heater controller connector

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 2.

	Repair the damaged connector.

STEP 2. Check the wiring harnesses between B-22-3 outside/inside air selection damper motor and potentiometer connector terminal No. 3 and C-115 compressor & heater controller connector terminal No. 24, and B-22-3 outside/inside and potentiometer connector terminal No. 5, 7 and C-101 A/C control unit connector terminal No. 20, 19.

Check the input line for open circuit.

Before checking the wiring harness, check the heater unit and blower assembly connector B-10 and repair it if necessary.

Q. Is the check result normal?

	Go to Step 3.

	Repair the wiring harness.

STEP 3. Check the outside/inside and potentiometer.

	Go to Step 4.

	Replace the air recirculation/fresh air selection damper motor and potentiometer.

STEP 4. Check whether the diagnosis code is reset.

Q. Is the diagnosis code set?

	Replace the compressor & heater controller.
